DENTAL IMPLANTS

Dental implants are normally the best way to replace teeth that are missing, or beyond repair. Made of titanium, they are inserted into the bone, and once in place they are used to provide a stable support onto which to mount replacement teeth.

What is a Dental Implant?

Implant is a bio compatible titanium capsule like device placed in the bone on which a crown is fixed without disturbing the adjacent teeth. Dental Implant procedure is a very good and safe option in case one does not want to get adjacent teeth grinded, as needs during bridge placement.

Implant can be given for

• Replacement of single tooth

• Replacement of multiple teeth

• Fixed complete denture

Why replace missing teeth?

Not having all of your teeth can really dent your self-esteem and confidence. Tooth loss can also affect how well you chew, and what foods you are able to eat, as well as changing your bite (the way your teeth come together) which can lead to problems with your jaw.

Why choose a dental implant?

Implant supported teeth are the closest thing possible to natural teeth, providing a long-term solution to your dental problems, often lasting a lifetime. Just like natural teeth, they allow you to eat all the foods you like, and are easy to keep clean and floss. They can be placed without impacting other healthy teeth unlike certain bridges. They are also fixed in place, and aesthetically are more pleasing than dentures.

What happens during dental implant surgery?

Under a local anaesthetic a small cut is made in the gum, and a titanium screw is placed inside the bone. It takes between 8 and 12 weeks for implants to fully integrate.
